How prices are checked
Which stores. Every grocery and drugstore chain with a current weekly ad for your ZIP — typically Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, ALDI, Costco and Sam's Club (only if you're a member), and supermarkets like Stop & Shop, ShopRite, Safeway, Acme or Jewel-Osco, depending on where you live. Online prices come from the stores' own websites where we can read them. We don't check Amazon yet.
How rewards are counted. When an ad price needs a free store card (myWalgreens, ExtraCare, Target Circle, a supermarket card) we say so next to the price. Members-only warehouse prices are used only if you tell us you're a member. Rewards you already have to spend — ExtraBucks, Walgreens Cash — and your card's grocery cash back come off the total, shown as their own lines.
How fresh. Every price is checked when your plan is made and shows the date its ad ends. On Cartwise Monthly your list is re-checked every week, with what changed at the top. Ads change on Sundays or Wednesdays depending on the store.
Delivery. We compare each delivering store's published fee — Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, and Instacart for everyone else — with your memberships applied. Instacart item prices can run higher than the shelf, and we say so.
Privacy. Your list, ZIP and memberships are used only to price your plan. We don't sell or share them, and you can delete your account and data yourself from Settings at any time.
